S-101 is the International Hydrographic Organization's (IHO) Product Specification for the next generation of Electronic Navigational Charts, replacing the older S-57 standard. Built on the flexible S-100 framework, S-101 ENCs will have a familiar look and feel but offer improved features, intelligent text placement, and greater interoperability with other S-100 data sets, which can be layered on the S-101 base chart data.
